Maria Salterio Doughty joined The Chicago Network as President and CEO in April 2020. Prior to coming to the Network, she was the Director of Public Policy and Regulatory Examinations and Corporate Counsel for Allstate Insurance Company. Maria is a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, President of the Latino Policy Forum board, President of the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence board, and Co-Chair of the Illinois Task Force for Employment and Economic Opportunity for Persons with Disabilities. Maria was on the Anti-Defamation League’s Women of Achievement Committee for more than a decade and she has served on a number of professional association boards including the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds, the Illinois Insurance Guaranty Fund, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, and the Illinois Insurance Association.

Director of Design and Innovation for The Chicago Network, Nathan Upchurch joined the organization in 2019. Since beginning his career as a broker and print artworker in a Scottish print brokerage supplying printed products to Scotland's major textile houses and the NHS, Nathan has employed his aptitude for design thinking and technology in a variety of roles, including serving as Chicago Head of Operations for Mojo Coffee during the brand's entry into the U.S. market, where he played a leading role in launching several downtown cafés as well as a central production facility, and launching boutique graphic design and web development agency Kom Creative in 2015. Nathan also previously served the Chicago maker community as both Scholarships Officer and Director at Large at Chicago's premier maker-space, Pumping Station: One.
